TriPeaks solitaire online: chains and streaks
Reviewed · Every classic solitaire, and where to play it online
TriPeaks asks you to clear three peaks by playing cards one rank above or below the waste card, building long chains. Ranks wrap, so an Ace goes on a King. It is quick, streaky and very easy to learn.
Picks are editorial, from the publisher of Solitaire Online (solitaire-online.com). They are not a measured ranking of every place to play these games.
How TriPeaks plays
Twenty-eight cards form three overlapping peaks with the bottom row face up. Above them sits a waste card. Any exposed card one rank higher or lower than the waste card, regardless of suit, can be played onto it and becomes the new waste card. When nothing fits, turn a card from the stock. Ranks wrap, so a King and an Ace connect. Clear all three peaks to win.
How to win more TriPeaks games
- Check every exposed card before drawing. Drawing breaks your chain.
- Pick the branch that uncovers face-down cards. When two cards fit, choose the one that opens the peak.
- Spread your progress across all three peaks. Clearing one peak early can leave the others stacked against a small stock.
- Plan the chain before starting it, because streak scoring rewards long unbroken runs.
What the best online TriPeaks needs
A clear statement of whether ranks wrap, quick taps rather than drags, and streak scoring that is explained, because the score is half the fun. It should also be fast to start a new deal, since games are short.
